Adobe Photoshop VS Macromedia Fireworks

Weather:
Currently working on an industrial project that will need photos editing software. There is the famous editing software, Adobe Photoshop, and for the second one will be Macromedia Fireworks. The current desktop I'm using in the lab can't seem to withstand both application running at the same time. Either one will hang. Besides all the hanging (might be due to CPU processor), there are also advantages and disadvantage of each individual software. Maybe Adobe should consider having more functions the next time round.

My lab's desktop is currently using photoshop CS 2.
I have the latest version at home but yet to have the time to try.

Let's talk about disadvantages of photoshop. A lot more work is need to be put in to draw curves. Undo shortcut (Ctrl + z) can only be pressed once. So in order to undo many times u have to click and find history. Photoshop isn't that friendly when I want to change the properties of the object. For example, there is no way to change the size of the object numerically. So I felt kind of troublesome especially at times you are rushing. Overall, Photoshop is good for creating big designs like poster, book covers, tags etc.

Fireworks 8 is the latest.
It's a good programme to create webpages or small graphics.

I think there is only one disadvantage when using Macromedia Fireworks is the file length and width cannot be more than 6,000 pixels. Fireworks is slightly better for drawing curves than Photoshop. The best programme that has good curve drawing tool is Macromedia Flash. It's just so simple to use.

Designing is always time consuming but when you look at the outcome, it's worth all the effort doing.
