Phuket, Thailand [ Day 3 ]

Weather:
Supposed our plan was to go to patong beach in the morning after breakfast then to shopping afterwards. It seems like all of us are too tired after drinking session yesterday night. We went back to hotel room to sleep after breakfast and are suppose to meet each other at 1200hrs for shopping. BUT all of us overslept for an hour. Oops. Luckily, we still have time for shopping. We have four places to visit: Jungceylong, 99 Restaurant, Ocean Plaza and Thawwong Road.

Along Rat-U-Thit Songroi Pi Road

Walking along Rat-U-Thit Songroi Pi road

Walk pass one shop that sells human size AVP steel models.
Judy, Cecilia and brother stop by a shop cause they saw Fred Perry shirts.
They ask the price and it seems not worth that price and so we proceed.

That is Tiger Pub on the left. It will only be open in the evening. The decorations are quite interesting.
The building in pink is the Vegas Thai Boxing. I've never watched live Thai Boxing before.
I think I won't dare to step in. Just afraid that it will be too rowdy.

First Stop - Jungceylon

This is Phuket's newest shopping centre, Jungceylon. This shopping centre is just 10 minutes walk from our hotel.
It may seems huge on the outside but on the inside there's only 3 storeys excluding basement.

Ask little brother to pose on the escalator. The picture looks kind of funny. Haha.
That's dearest posing with the Manchester United's devil rod in the sports shop.
That cute little devil's rod is a bolster, an expensive bolster.
Not worth to get though might not be able to find in Singapore.

Earlier ago we saw a shop selling AVP but didn't managed to get a good picture.
Now is my chance. They too have AVP models in the shopping centre.
So I got dearest and brother to take picture with it. Dearest is having fun posing for that picture.

What that cute and small little containing is female underwear.
I though of getting it for a gift but don't know who to give it to.
So instead I got printed t-shirts as gift from the same shop.

A little hiccup some where here. We split into two groups to do our own shopping. So we set to meet at 1630hrs at the entrance where we took pictures. When the time is up, we (dearest, brother and me) didn't see them (Judy and Cecilia) and waited at the spot for about 20 minutes. We thought that they would be late shopping and forgot about the time, so we went to Carrefour for a short walk.

Just behind Jungceylon shopping centre.
And behind the boat is Robinsons where Carrefour will be.

This is something we don't get to see in Singapore.
Eggs in different color.

Carrefour's seafood section.
Those prawns are commonly found in Singapore's prawns pond for prawning.

The bread all look so tempting and big and cheap.
Actually I wanted to get one and try but in the end I have to keep my stomach for dinner.

Look at the muffins. So colorful.
It makes me hungry when I load these pictures.

King of fruits, The Durian. It's huge but the smell of the durians ain't that strong.
We bought the pomelos. It's so sweet.
I stop taking pictures after this cause the security was looking at me.

Actually, we also bought two boxes of tom yam instant noodles back. I didn't have enough hands to take pictures. Each box contains 40 packets of noodles. In Singapore, you have to pay $2 for 5 packets. In Thailand, we bought it at $0.10 per packet. Haha. A good deal! After all the buying, we went back to Jungceylon entrance to look for the two girls. We are hopeful that they are there waiting but when we reached we didn't see them. They appear just when dearest almost announce their names on the shopping centre system.

What happen was they were 5 minutes late from the time we set. They couldn't see us, so they walk around to look for us. Just so coincident that we also did the same thing. Haha. This didn't spoil too much of our day.

The other side of the street.

There is nothing much to about Ocean Plaza as there is nothing interesting except for this man with his fruits stall bike.

Second Stop - Ocean Plaza

We ordered mango and guava from this fruits stall by the road side.
Don't be deceive by the green color skin of the mango.

The way he cuts the guava is just so professional.
But one different is that they eat guava with the seeds.

That's our guava with this sweet and spicy powder thing.

Look at their faces. Awww. enjoying every bit of the fruits.
Cecilia took bit of the spicy sweet powder for the guava and she was in tears as it was kind of too spicy for her.

Walking along the streets looking for 99 Restaurant for dinner.

Third Stop - 99 Restaurant

This restaurant is recommended by our tour guide, Ji Ji.
She said this restaurant's food quality and price is quite average.
They even have their signboard and menu done in 5 languages for tourist. Smart.

Some of the variety of seafood they have.
These are not what we ordered. Dearest and brother are busy ordering food and I'm busy snapping.

Cecilia's ice lemon tea. You can never find glass bottle of ice lemon tea in Singapore.
The other drink is Judy's watermelon juice.

I don't remember what are they discussing about.
But they look really serious. Ooops!

Pineapple rice. It's a dish that is a must eat no matter which part of thailand you are at.
This restaurant's pineapple rice is missing some ingredient. Can you guess what is it?
It's pork floss that is missing from the dish.

How can a meal be complete without vegetables?
So here's our vegtables of the day.

Our HUGE squid. It's very tasty being barbequed. Simple and delicious.

Steam fish. Ehhh...don't remember what fish is it.
Anyway, the fish wasn't that fantastic.

Prawns and Curry Crab.
Prawns is quite normal. But the crab is something quite new.
The crab really have curry taste though it seems dry. The taste of the crab lasted quite a while.
Hmmm...hungry for another crab eating session.

Tom Yam Kung. Another traditional dish of thailand.
It's a must eat thing when u are in thailand. I still think bangkok's ones are better.

All of us seriously hungry le. No smiles on their faces until they are full.

We started walking along this street around 1900hrs. We stop shopping at around midnight. Dearest was tired half way so he took the tuk tuk back to the hotel first. Cecilia shop until she was almost broke. Both Cecilia and Judy got quite a handful of stuffs.

Last Stop - Thawwong Road

The whole stretch of road beside the patong beach are filled with many shops and restaurants.
Most of the stalls sells similar things. So make sure that you do some bargaining before buying stuffs.

We walked pass one pub and I was given a shock by this gorilla toy.
Looking at it at night, it seems just like one hairy human sitting there holding a beer.

Other seafood restaurant's range of seafood. It seems to be good but it's really going to be expensive eating there.
So taking pictures would be enough. And the last picture is me with the crab on the pillar of the restaurant.
The crab looked quite fierce with the light shining like that on it's face.

Some random shot while walking.
Quite funky eh.

Dearest and his don't know how many redbull.
He take it so he can go shopping with us else he will be at the hotel sleeping.

After we are back from shopping, dearest sneakily went down to get another stick of chicken backside from the same barbeque stall. Argh. How dare him. Lol. Go eat also nv buy some back for us.
